The Better Giver – Intersect

Joe Clark had the opportunity to chat with Wendy Cook from Intersect, which is a substance abuse prevention center in Madison County. Originally known as the Tobacco Coalition in 2002, Intersect exists to serve the community through encouraging and empowering people in their health related issues. They serve in the community and in schools to change policies that may lead the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. As a matter of fact, Intersect has a presence in every school corporation in Madison county, in which they are making efforts to raise awareness of substance abuse among the youth. Alongside this programming, Intersect also runs SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and a Strengthening Families program, which focuses on individual families within the county.
